Suitemonger is owned and operated by Alphahoop Limited (RC 9700366), a company registered in Nigeria.

We built Suitemonger to make it easier for people to find, book and manage accommodation and to connect with relevant services around their stay. Doing this requires us to collect and use certain information about the people who use our platform.

We believe you should understand what happens to that information without having to work through unnecessarily complicated language.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it and the choices and rights available to you.

When this Policy refers to “Suitemonger,” “we,” “us” or “our,” it means Alphahoop Limited in its operation of the Suitemonger platform. The “Platform” includes the Suitemonger mobile application, website and related products and services.

02 Information We Collect

What we collect depends on how you use Suitemonger.

Account and profile information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

  • your name, email address and telephone number;
  • profile photograph and date of birth, where required;
  • login and authentication information;
  • account type and preferences; and
  • other information you choose to add to your profile.

Information from third-party sign-in services

If you choose to create or access your account using a supported service such as Google or Apple, we may receive information made available by that provider, such as your name, email address and account identifier. The information provided to us depends on the provider and the permissions associated with your account.

Booking information

When you search for, request, make or manage a booking, we may collect:

  • the property or service selected;
  • check-in and check-out dates, booking duration and number of guests;
  • booking price, status and cancellation or refund information;
  • special requests and the lister or service provider involved; and
  • information relating to a dispute or support request.

Payment and transaction information

Payments made through Suitemonger may be handled by third-party payment processors. These providers may collect payment card details, bank information, billing information or digital wallet information required to process a transaction. Suitemonger does not generally need to store complete payment card details.

We may receive and retain transaction references, payment status, amount, currency, payment method, refund status, payout information and records required to reconcile or investigate transactions. If you receive money through Suitemonger as a lister or service provider, we may also collect information needed to process withdrawals or payouts.

Location information

With your permission, we may access precise or approximate device location to show properties and services near you, improve location-based searches, calculate or estimate distance, suggest relevant accommodation and service providers, and provide other location-based features.

You can control access through your device settings. Some features may not work as intended if location access is disabled. We may also determine an approximate location from information such as your IP address when precise device location is unavailable.

Searches, favourites and activity

We may collect searches, filters, properties and services viewed, saved listings, bookings, interactions with recommendations, pages or screens visited and features used. This helps us operate and improve Suitemonger and provide more relevant results.

Messages and communications

Where users, listers or service providers can communicate through the Platform, we process those messages so the service can function. We may access or review communications where reasonably necessary to investigate complaints, booking or payment disputes, fraud, harassment or abuse; enforce our Terms; protect users; troubleshoot technical issues; or comply with a lawful request.

Reviews and content

When you submit a review, rating, photograph, property information, service description, report or other content, we collect and process it. Some information may be publicly visible depending on the feature you use.

Identity and verification information

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify a user, lister or service provider; ownership or authority over a property; payout information; suspicious activity; or legal compliance. This may include identification documents, business information or other verification records.

Device and technical information

We may automatically receive your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, device identifiers, app version, language, session and login activity, crash reports, network information, and dates and times of access.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to provide and operate Suitemonger.

Operate your account

We use your information to register, authenticate and manage your account.

Provide bookings and services

We process information needed to discover accommodation, make and manage bookings, request services and communicate with the relevant lister or provider.

Process transactions

We use transaction information to process and confirm payments, withdrawals, refunds and other Platform financial activity.

Personalise Suitemonger

We may use location, previous searches, saved properties and activity to determine which properties, services and recommendations may be most useful to you.

Communicate with you

We may contact you about account activity, bookings, payments, withdrawals, cancellations, refunds, messages, security alerts, support requests, service changes and policy changes. We may also send promotional communications where permitted. You can opt out of promotions without stopping important account or transaction messages.

Keep the Platform safe

We may identify, prevent and investigate fraud, fake accounts, payment abuse, suspicious transactions, security incidents, harassment, misuse, Terms violations and activity that could place users or Suitemonger at risk.

Improve Suitemonger

We analyse activity to understand usage, identify technical problems, improve performance and develop features. Where appropriate, we may use aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics and product development.

Comply with our obligations

We may use and retain information to comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory or law-enforcement requirements or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

05 When We Share Information

Suitemonger is a marketplace. Some information must be shared with people involved in a booking or service request. We share it only where reasonably necessary for the purposes in this Policy.

Property listers

The relevant lister may receive your name, booking details, relevant contact information and information needed to provide accommodation.

Service providers

The relevant provider may receive your name, service details, contact information and the location where a requested service is required.

Users

If you operate as a lister or service provider, information in your public profile or listing may be shown to Platform users.

Companies that help us operate

We may use third parties for cloud hosting, payments, authentication, maps and location, analytics, email, notifications, customer support, fraud prevention, identity verification and Platform security. They may process information where necessary to serve us. We expect providers handling personal information on our behalf to protect it appropriately and use it only for authorised purposes.

Legal and safety purposes

We may disclose information to comply with law; respond to valid legal or regulatory requests; investigate fraud or unlawful activity; protect a person's rights or safety; enforce agreements; or protect Alphahoop Limited, Suitemonger or our users.

Business transactions

If Alphahoop Limited is involved in financing, investment, merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of all or part of its business, information may be disclosed as reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards.

06 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

Suitemonger does not sell or rent your personal information to unrelated third parties for money. We also do not give unrelated businesses access to your private account information simply because they want to market products to you.

07 Location Privacy

We recognise that precise location information deserves particular care. When Suitemonger requests device location, your device gives you the opportunity to grant or deny permission. You can change permission at any time in device settings. Disabling access may limit nearby listings, nearby services and location-aware recommendations.

08 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and applications may use cookies, software development kits, local storage and similar technologies to:

  • keep your account signed in and remember settings;
  • operate Platform features and measure performance;
  • understand Platform usage and improve services;
  • detect fraud; and
  • diagnose technical problems.

Where applicable law requires permission for a particular technology, we will request it.

09 Notifications and Marketing

We may send service-related communications necessary for your account or transactions, including booking updates, payment information, account alerts and security notifications.

Promotional communications are treated separately. You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the method in the communication. Push notifications can generally be controlled through device settings.

10 How Long We Keep Information

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose and legitimate legal or operational needs. The period may depend on whether your account is active; an ongoing booking or service; payment and accounting requirements; unresolved disputes; refunds or chargebacks; fraud prevention; legal obligations; and establishing or defending legal claims.

Certain transaction and financial records may need to be retained after account deletion. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it, subject to backup cycles and lawful retention obligations.

11 Account Deletion

You may request deletion through the Platform where available or by emailing privacy@suitemonger.com.

Deletion does not necessarily mean every associated record can be erased immediately. We may retain limited information for transaction records, tax and accounting, fraud prevention, unresolved bookings, chargebacks, refunds, legal claims, regulatory obligations or enforcement of agreements. Information no longer needed will be deleted or anonymised under our retention practices.

12 Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration and disclosure. Safeguards may include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, monitoring and restrictions on access.

No digital service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and should contact us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

13 International Processing

Some companies providing technology or other services to Suitemonger may operate outside Nigeria. Personal information may therefore sometimes be processed or stored outside Nigeria. Where law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will take reasonable steps to use an appropriate transfer mechanism or other lawful safeguard.

14 Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law and your circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we process information about you and obtain access to it;
  • receive a copy of certain information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion or restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing and direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent;
  • request portability of certain information where applicable;
  • challenge certain significant decisions made solely through automated processing; and
  • complain to the relevant data protection authority.

These rights may have legal limitations. For example, we may be required to retain transaction records after a deletion request. We may reasonably verify your identity before providing, changing or deleting information.

Exercise your rights

Send privacy requests to privacy@suitemonger.com. You may also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

15 Recommendations and Automated Processing

Suitemonger may use searches, location, saved properties and previous activity to rank or recommend properties and services, making discovery more relevant. Where automated processing has a significant effect on a person's rights or interests, we will provide safeguards required by applicable law.

16 Children's Privacy

A person must generally be at least 18 years old to create and operate their own account. Children may be guests at accommodation booked by an eligible adult, but Suitemonger is not designed for children to independently enter accommodation, service or financial transactions.

If we discover personal information provided by a child contrary to these requirements, we may take reasonable steps to remove it and restrict or close the account.

17 Information About Other People

If you provide personal information about another person, such as another guest on a booking, you should provide only information you are authorised to provide and that is reasonably necessary for the transaction.

18 Third-Party Websites and Services

Suitemonger may link to websites, maps, payment services or other third-party products. Those services operate under their own privacy practices. This Policy applies to Suitemonger and Alphahoop Limited and does not control independent third-party privacy practices.

19 Changes to This Policy

Suitemonger will continue to develop, and we may update this Policy as our services or legal obligations change. For material changes, we will update the date at the beginning and may provide additional notice through the Platform, email or another appropriate method. Where consent is required for a new use, updating this Policy alone will not replace that consent.
